Claymills Victorian Pumping Station
Brilliant steam museum I have to say. I was invited down to see some photoes of some machines in situ from their archive and was lucky enough to have an all access tour of the site and hear about the history of its development from when it was closed in 1972 and then reopened as a museum which is now accredited. There has been a lot of work that has been put in to do this by the dedicated team of volunteers over the years.
I unfortunately wasn’t there on one of their steaming days however but am planning to return to see their impressive collection of 33 live steam engines!
You can get a taste on what’s on offer from virtual tour on their website as well as an archive of some of their collections.
